Rosalind (Roz) Varner began her life on March 20, 1964. She was born at Hollywood Hospital, in Los Angeles, California, to Thomas and Lula Varner (Lula preceded her in death). At two years old the family was relocated to Highland Park , MI and eventually to the Northwest side of Detroit. Roz was educated in the Detroit Public Schools system.
In 1981, Roz became friends with Gene Lynch whom she eventually married on January 19, 1986 this union was blessed with Juvonnie Varner, Sierra Lynch, Aysia Lynch-Bey and Ramaddan Morroc-Bey. When the marriage ended in 1997, it was in her role as a single parent Roz did excel. Also in 1997, Roz began her career at the United States Postal Service, where she held multiple positions from clerk to acting supervisor. Roz loved shopping, sewing, traveling, reading and dancing a true social butterfly. She will always be remembered by many of the best ballroom and steppers in the city of Detroit for her smooth and graceful moves on the dance floor.
In 2016, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer. On June 23, 2017, Roz made her transition into an angel. Roz was one of the good ones. But it is not until now, that she is gone, do we realize that we have known and was loved by a real live angel. So until we meet again Rosalind (Roz) Varner, we send all of our love to you and though we are crying right now we will smile every time we think of you or someone mentions your name.
