Joyce Lorraine Wyche daughter to the late Walter Everett Gray and the late Lue A Jones was born on August 7, 1951 in Warsaw, Virginia. Joyce is one of seven children, her brothers Walter Gray, Wardell Jones, Baby Boy Jones and sisters Avis Gale Cobbs (Gray), Cherry Brown and Beverly Durant.
Much of her childhood was spent with her grandmother Miriam Verbenia Jones (Thompson) of Warsaw Virgina. Joyce attended Galilee Baptist Church where she was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
During her teenage years Joyce and her family moved to New York City. Wiah a passion for Art and Fashion, Joyce pursued her studies at The High School of Fashion Industries and Kingsborough Community College. Books were Joyce's other passion. She was an avid reader.
Joyce married in May 1975. Her union later blessed her with two children, Mark Neil Wyche, Jr. and Taryn Joy Wyche. Joyce forged a strong family relationship with her children that made the three a tight knit group.
To support and maiintain the strength of her family, Joyce made a career change to Telecommunications, serving in a variety of roles within the industry for over 20 years. Her hard work and dedication earned her awards and recognition among her colleagues.
Joyce's desire for a better quality of life and to continue having the best education for Mark and Taryn were her motivations for moving her family from Queens, NY to Reisterstown Maryland in 1987.
Not content with simply supporting her family with her full time work, Joyce fortified the support of her family with part time work for many years as a Hospital Telecommunications Operator.
Joyce made another career change to Office Administration when she became the office manager for a systems engineering company. She loved her job very much and was well regarded within the company.
