In Remembrance Of Our Beloved Viola Dorothy Roberts:
Viola Dorthy Robinson was born on June 15, 1921 in Durham, North Carolina to Hillie and Laura Robinson. Viola accepted Christ at an early age.
Viola graduated from Durham Public Schools. She later married Clarence Morgan and of this union two children were born, Clarence Jr. (Junebug) who preceded her in death and Alice (Alma). She soon moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she worked as a cook and later had three more children, Shirley Ann, George William Jr. and Sedrick Douglas.
In the late 60’s, she moved up North to Detroit, put herself through a few college courses and became a certified Physical Therapist where she would later land a job with Henry Ford Hospital. Viola retired after 34 years of service with the hospital.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to different states and enjoyed family outings with family and friends in her mobile home stationed in Canada. Viola enjoyed watching baseball, dancing, frequenting the casinos for fun and listening to the blues. When she heard one of her favorite songs playing, she would stop everything and start dancing wherever she was and would ask you to dance along.
She loved her family and would never turn her back on anyone. Her door was always open. She was famous for her potato salad, stuffed cabbage, turkey dressing, candied yams, cakes and pies. She enjoyed hosting backyard barbeques and her block club parties where she would take pleasure in yard sales.
