Clodie Smith was born on January 3, 1943 in Merigold, MS to the late Ollie Ree and Wavy Daughrity, Sr.
At an early age, she confessed a saving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at New Hope M.B. Church in Merigold, MS.
On September 15, 1964, she exchanged marriage vows with Curtis Smith and to this union two daughters were born.
Clodie received her high school education at East Side High School in Cleveland, MS. She attended Mississippi Junior College, where she received secretarial training. She was employed for many years as an administrative assistant at Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc. in Cleveland, MS.
Mrs. Smith was the co-owner and operator of Smitty's Fast Foods for more than forty years.
Clodie was an active member in the Jerusalem M.B. Church and sang in the choir until her health failed her.
Mrs. Smith served on the Bolivar County Community Action Agency's Policy Control for numerous years. Clodie was also a member of Les Magnifique Social Club of Mound Bayou.
She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, traveling, and making new acquaintances.
Clodie departed this life on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Shelby Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shelby, MS. |
